Borealis Post Reactor Technologies

Based on the Borealis proprietary Borstar® process technology, a range of post reactor technologies are used to add more product functionalities. These include:

• The Fibremod™ family of engineered short (SGF) and long glass fibre (LGF) compounds is bringing lightweighting, temperature resistance, extra strength and impact performance to a wide range of applications. This is achieved by compounding a diverse range of glass fibres and mineral fillers, which significantly extend key material properties of polypropylene to enable their use in demanding applications that are crucial for modern society such as automotive, appliances and infrastructure. The Fibremod™ Carbon portfolio of engineered polypropylene (PP) compounds with carbon fibre offers a highly cost-effective alternative to other engineering polymers, high performance polymers or even lightweight metals. These grades are especially suited for interior and exterior automotive applications.

• The market-leading high melt strength (HMS) PP Daploy™ product generation and technology gives Borealis a leading global supplier position for long chain branched HMS PP. Daploy HMS PP solutions make a significant contribution towards material savings, weight reduction and improved processability for foam, coating and blown film applications. This enables both sustainability and cost-efficiency advantages for the manufacturer.
• The innovative solar brand Quentys™ offers a step-change in production cost efficiency for photovoltaic modules, empowering solar by making it more efficient and affordable. In addition to lowering production costs, it improves module reliability, increases power output, and ensures longer lifetimes. Because it is fully recyclable, Quentys helps achieve a lower environmental footprint. Fields of application for the globally available products in the pioneering Quentys portfolio include solar backsheet compounds and encapsulant films.
